iOS 27: What iPhone Users Should Know

Apple's next major software update is expected to bring a fresh set of features, design refinements and security improvements to iPhone users. Here is what to watch for as iOS 27 develops.

What could iOS 27 bring?

Apple has not confirmed every detail yet, so features and release dates may change. Based on Apple's usual annual update cycle, iOS 27 is likely to focus on useful improvements across the iPhone experience, including performance, privacy, accessibility and integration with other Apple devices.

Compatibility and preparation

Before installing a major update, check your iPhone model, create a current backup and make sure you have enough free storage. Keeping apps updated and noting your important passwords can also make the transition smoother.

Why security updates matter

New iOS releases typically include security fixes alongside visible features. Installing updates promptly helps protect your device and personal information, but it is sensible to wait for early compatibility issues to be resolved if your iPhone is used for important work.
